Our editorial approach

Curious. Careful.
Clear about the details.

How we approach collecting guides, sources, specialist questions, and corrections.

Useful decisions come first.

Our guides focus on actions readers can understand and adapt: defining a collection, identifying an item, describing condition, choosing storage, and keeping records. Examples illustrate a decision process. They are not claims about a reader’s likely results or current market prices.

Sources should earn their place.

Each journal article links to one relevant editorial source, such as a publisher, collecting organization, preservation institution, or grading organization. The link supports the nearby point. It does not imply that the source endorses CollectorPodcast.com or every recommendation in an article.

We favor specific primary references over anonymous claims. When a product, service, or collecting convention changes, readers should check the responsible organization’s current details before relying on them for a purchase or submission.

Observation and opinion are different.

An exact description, an authenticity assessment, a condition grade, an asking price, and a completed sale answer different questions. We avoid treating one as a substitute for another. We do not publish invented market statistics, ratings, testimonials, or performance claims.

Some questions need direct inspection or specialist judgment. Our articles help readers prepare questions; they do not provide individual appraisals, authenticate objects from a description, or prescribe conservation treatment for a specific item.

Keep the hobby in perspective.

We encourage a comfortable hobby budget and collecting goals based on interest. The journal does not promise financial returns or advise readers to fund acquisitions with expected future sales. Ownership can involve storage, servicing, shipping, and other costs beyond the listed price.

Corrections should be easy to send.

If something appears incorrect or unclear, contact us with the article title and the passage in question. A primary reference or a precise explanation helps us assess the issue. Meaningful changes should be reflected in the article’s modification record.

Independent subject coverage.

Names such as Pokémon and the names of manufacturers, publishers, and specialist organizations identify subjects discussed in the journal. CollectorPodcast.com does not claim an affiliation, endorsement, or partnership with those organizations. We do not use affiliate purchase links in these guides.
